From crafter beer to comic books, Big 12 basketball to big-name productions, Kansas City Delights in welcoming large-scale events designed for locals and visitors alike. It's a no-brainer to capitalize on these events via social media, but proper execution requires planning, focus and follow-through. Representatives from various local organizations that have recently played roles in some of KC's large-scale events will share their tips and tricks on executing coverage in a meaningful, memborable way.


Derek Byrne, Visit KC
Derek serves as Social Media Manager at Visit KC, Kansas City’s primary organization responsible for attracting business and leisure travel to the area. Derek is responsible for managing strategy and content across Visit KC’s channels, including the promotion of local experiences such as the KC Tap Tour, as well as maintaining the organization’s influencer relationships. Prior experience includes marketing, communications and social media efforts within the travel/tourism and higher education industries.

Rachel Kephart, KC Film Office of Visit KC
Rachel is the Kansas City Film Coordinator at Visit KC. She graduated from the University of Missouri – Kansas City with a degree in Communications Studies with a Film and Media emphasis. She has a background in casting, freelance production work and film incentive consulting for commercial and network television projects. Rachel was the first KC Film intern before returning to the office as its full-time coordinator in 2018. In addition to her work supporting film and television productions filming in Kansas City, Rachel manages the office’s social media and digital marketing efforts.

John Kreicsberg, Propaganda3
John has been an active member of the Kansas City advertising and marketing scene since 1999. Getting his start at Bernstein-Rein, John has also served stints at Barkley, VML, DEG and Meers. His passion for digital innovation brought him to Propaganda3 in 2013, where he has served as the general manager and chief marketing officer for the firm with a strong focus on their app development and digital marketing consulting efforts.
