We've got something really special this month - a sneak peek at some amazing upcoming tools from Red Giant (https://www.redgiant.com), makers of awesome film-making and motion design tools like the Trapcode Suite, Magic Bullet Suite, Universe, and more. We'll be getting a live (remote) demo from Senior Product Manager Christine Goldby! (I've seen some of these myself, and they look like a pretty serious game-changer for compositing and other related tasks.)

Before joining Red Giant, Christine spent several years in the industry working on projects like "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Babe: Pig in the City," music videos for Johnny Cash, Audioslave, J Lo and more - so she's the real deal!

After that, we'll spend some time discussing the short fan film "Mac and Paul," (https://www.macandpaul.com) a fun tribute to the "Mac & Me" clip shown every time Paul Rudd appears on Conan. Several group members worked on this piece, so we'll get to explore it from a few different angles!

Schedule:
6:00 - Doors open. Setup/social time.
6:30 - *Official meeting start.* Welcome / intro / news / etc.
7:00 - Red Giant sneak peek w/ Christine Goldby
8:00 - "Mac & Paul" Case Study

In this talk we will discuss microservices and serverless development, including going through some common difficulties, pitfalls, and cautionary tails. We'll introduce a new marketplace for microservices, discuss some future ideas, and ultimately build a simple serverless function using the marketplace.

Speaker: Bobby Thompson

Bobby started his career as a data scientist but moved into software development to build a data science platform for his company. For the past 5 years, he has run a software consulting company using almost entirely JavaScript and has recently launched a new product, Bantam.io, to provide a marketplace for microservices.

Having trouble finding time to write your blog post. Me too.

I want to have a dedicated time to work on my blog post each week, I figured it would be great to schedule a time to blog and be with other WordPress people.

Let's get together and write and talk some, but be a support network to get our blog posts written.

This is not a help session, it is to post blogs.

This is not an information session, it is to post on your own website.

I plan on two in the morning per Month on Tuesdays or Wednesdays... Depending on my teaching schedule. Hope you to see you there.

NOTE - The library has free wifi. If you want a secure internet connection, bring your own hotspot - one will not be provided. The library does have secure computers right outside the conference 2 meeting room. The meeting room will change based on availability
