Monday, May 10, 2021 at 12:00:00 PM Online event

We will be meeting remotely this month, so make something delicious for lunch and participate from home! Networking will be from 11:30-12:00 and the session will start promptly at 12:00.

SharePoint is From Venus, Dynamics is From Mars: Better Document Management in Your Model-Driven Power Apps

When it comes to document management, Dynamics (or any model-driven Power App) and SharePoint offer a myriad of options … not all of them good. Even the built-in SharePoint to Dynamics integration can create more problems than it solves.

In this session, you'll learn what nobody tells you about SharePoint to Dynamics integration.

We will review the available options, from using the built-in Dynamics document management, to SharePoint, to Teams, to Power Automate to custom code. You'll learn the different solutions that work best in different scenarios and you'll walk away with a decision-making process for identifying the right integration approach(es) for your organization.

Signing up on Meetup alone does not secure your spot. YOU MUST sign up via Eventbrite to ensure your ticket! → https://www.eventbrite.com/e/angular-pt-3-fake-it-til-you-make-it-data-binding-dom-manipulation-tickets-142441423131?aff=meetup

We're really rounding the corner now! Coding & Cocktails continues its Angular series with a third session. We will be building a trivia app in Angular over four sessions:

• 03/13/2021: SPA Day (Intro to Single Page Applications)
• 04/10/2021: Playing with Blocks (Angular Components)
• 05/08/2021: Fake It 'Til You Make It (Data Binding & DOM Manipulation)
• 06/21/2021: Go Fetch (APIs)

In our third session, we will dive into data display and DOM manipulation -- the Angular way, through data binding and directives. This two hour online session will include a presentation and time to work through a worksheet with support from mentors.

The Coding & Cocktails Angular series assumes knowledge of the basics of web development. We recommend this course for those who have completed a bootcamp, completed self-study in web development concepts, or attended web development workshops (including previous C&C sessions on HTML, CSS, JavaScript Part 1 and 2, Git and Command Line). We also recommend attending each session in order.

In short:
• Required knowledge includes HTML, CSS, JS, Git, node, npm, using the CLI and an IDE.
• Recommended knowledge includes ES6 constructs (classes, interfaces) and API fundamentals.

Although this may not be the right session for absolute beginners, we are here to support our attendees both in session and throughout the month on Slack. Feel free to reach out for help brushing up or good resources to review.

Design isn't just an afterthought in tech circles anymore, it truly helps drive the direction of the product or service. But how does a design team help guide the rest of the company in the right direction? By incorporating a design system. A design system is a master collection of the key standardized documentation every company needs to define the overall design of the product.

Incorporating a design system in your company brings lots of tangible value: faster to market times, improved UX and customer satisfaction, better internal communication, and consistency across all products. Join us in this webinar as we continue to discuss why having a design system is so important and gain hands-on experience in creating your own.

What you will learn:

What is a Design System?
Notable Real-World Design Systems
Figma Tips and Best Practices
Creating Our Own System

How to join us: Once you register with Eventbrite, you will receive an email with the links to the live webinar from BigMarker. If you do not receive your link, please email [email protected].

In this workshop, we will delve into ways to identify what motivates us and how we can bring those things into our daily lives in a more significant way.

This is perfect for anyone who is tired of the grind and looking to enrich their life with purpose and passion.

A sister Meetup group in Austin, TX is holding this event; in order to do our part to help "flatten the curve" of the spread of COVID-19, this will be an online event that will be held in the Central Daylight Time Zone. We thought it might be of interest to our membership (you are welcome to sign up for it here).

(original Title and Meetup page:)
Exploring Data and Creating Interactive Dashboards in the Cloud
https://www.meetup.com/futureofdata-austin/events/277025681/

Date/Time
Wednesday, April 28, 2021
6:00 PM

In this meetup, we're going to once again put ourselves in the shoes of an electric car manufacturer that is deploying a recently developed electric motor out into their new cars. We're going to show how to explore some data that has been previously collected through various different sources and stored into Apache Hive within a data warehouse, with the goal of tracking down a specific set of potentially defective parts. We'll then take the results of this data exploration and create an interactive dashboard that presents our results in a visually appealing way using a BI tool that's integrated right into the same data warehouse.

Come join us to see how we've linked all these concepts together and hopefully inspire similar solutions of your own!

Speaker: Yair Segal is the founder and CTO of Peach Software, an independent I.T. consulting firm with years of experience delivering custom mobile applications for a variety of clients.

Mobile applications require cloud services for actions that can't be done directly on the device, such as offline data synchronization, storage, or data sharing across multiple users. One option is to design, configure, manage these services yourself but the easier, faster, and more scalable solution is to leverage Amazon's collection of services for mobile applications.
