Chapter Meeting DETAILS:

Topic Details: In this Chapter meeting, Ian will lead discussion on modern approaches to endpoint protection.  Malware, phishing, so called “targeted attacks” – they all focus on users and on their endpoints.  So how can organizations reduce their endpoint risk and exposure?  The market is rife with terms like Machine Learning and AI, but what value do they add, really?  How do you measure success of an endpoint security program?    Ian will also be happy to answer questions on the mysterious life of an Industry Analyst, explain how markets are analyzed, and if anyone is brave enough to ask( *gasp*), he’ll talk about whether it really is a pay-for-play industry.

Facilitator:  Ian has nearly two decades of experience in operational IT and security and risk planning for enterprises, service providers and software vendors. He is a recognized leader for his ability to help organizations scale their security programs and bring products to market.  Prior to joining Endgame, Ian was Gartner’s lead analyst for endpoint protection and EDR, and lead author on Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms. During his tenure, Ian specialized in research focused on assessing the impact of emerging technologies for security operations, breach detection and incident response.  You can find him online in most places as @ianmcshane.
