We are excited to introduce our Data Science Development Series, a free 6 part series that will provide you with the fundamental knowledge to start your career in the field of Data Science. Our sessions are led by expert instructors who are responsible for delivering advanced analytical and data-driven solutions for the industries leading brands.

DSDS is open to anybody interested in learning more about Data Science, and we welcome you to join us and start your journey into the exciting field of Data Science.

Session #2: Computer Vision 101
Instructor: Matthew Hagan| Sr. Data Scientist at Home Depot
Host: Brian O'Connor | Director of Data Science at Pandera

Part I: Traditional Computer Vision (15min)
In this session, we will cover traditional computer vision techniques including Haar, SIFT, and HOG features using OpenCV frameworks.

Part II: Convolutional Neural Networks (15min)
Review the most common operations of CNN Architectures, pooling, convolutions and fully connected layers.
This session will then cover the popular CNN VGGNet.

Part III: Object Detection (15min)
This session will introduce object detection with a fast single-shot approach: SSD.

Part IV: Object Segmentation (15min)
We will discuss a popular segmentation approach using a fully convolutional network: FCN.

Part V: Open Q&A (30 min)
