Dear
Rob,
Please join ISSA KC chapter members and other security professionals at
Hereford House Restaurant.
Topic:
Critical Infrastructures: Vulnerabilities and Mitigation Strategies
Summary:
Instead of a lecture, this is an open forum where everyone can interact
and converse this topic. We will discuss Critical Infrastructures,
Vulnerable Systems such as the Internet and SCADA, for example, and
methodologies to improve security posture. Deception (e.g. Honeypot),
Depth (e.g. Layered Defense), Correlation and Awareness are just few of
the methods that will be discussed. The purpose is to define issues that
surround Critical Infrastructure and Key Resources (CIKR), and strategies
that best secure them.
Deliverable:
We hope those who work in Critical Infrastructure industries will
share their thoughts, and those who do not work in or support critical
infrastructures will be able to learn that the critical infrastructure
sectors are assets, systems, and networks, whether physical or virtual,
that are considered so vital to the United States that their
incapacitation or destruction would have a debilitating effect on security,
national economic security, safety, or any combination. The
panelist will facilitate a discussion on threats, risks, attacks
vectors, and recommendations to secure and counter attacks.
