"Hey Kid! Yeah, I'm a talking pumpkin… and if I see you take more than one piece of candy out of that bowl, I'm going to be a pissed off pumpkin!"

Pumpkins are great. They're a festive symbols of the season that look great while keeping evil spirits away. But they would be so much better if they could shout at people.

In this class we are going to carving pumpkins with an added little something. An Arduino powered MP3 Player! With pre-recorded phrases and some basic programming, our pumpkins can hold one-sided conversations with visiting trick-or-treaters!

Arduino is an inexpensive and easy-to-learn combination of software and hardware that lets students, artist, tinkerers, and hobbyists add intelligence to their projects.

In this class we'll cover:
How to carve a pumpkin
Connecting an arduino to a simple MP3 player
Detecting nearby people, and creating a conversation from pre-recorded audio clips.

Young helper are always welcome!
**Students needs to bring their own computer to this class.**
We will be downloading and installing the software used to program your Arduino.

In this Three Hour class we will cover:
● Using an MP3 player with and Arduino
● Using sensors to detect when people are nearby
● Finding pre-recorded phrases to use with the pumpkin
