Security threat landscapes are ever changing as we try to protect critical data assets in our diverse environments. Performing risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and implementing risk/vulnerability management programs will help to effectively manage cybersecurity vulnerabilities throughout their lifecycles. Risk assessment results identify the actual risk that could be realized due to the existence or exploitation of a specific threat/vulnerability and drive risk based decisions. Both risk and vulnerability management are essential components to understanding threats to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical data assets.
