NOTE: This has been moved back two weeks so as to not interfere with the Super Bowl Parade!

Josh Marchello will present on JSONB in Rails

"Should I use a Relational Database or a NoSQL database for this app?" Why not both? With support for PostgreSQL's JSONB data type becoming more and more common, you can get the best of both worlds! If you're unfamiliar, JSONB is a datatype in PostgreSQL that allows you to store JSON-like data in columns of your database tables. Your relational data can be relational, while your unstructured or tree-shaped data can be stored in JSONB. In this talk you'll learn how to query JSONB and how to integrate it into Rails' ActiveRecord.

We've brought back an old tradition after the meetup of going out for drinks and socializing afterwords.
