Description:

Computer Vision applications typically employ numerical analysis that is very similar to and in some cases borrows from Data Science topics - algorithms such as RANSAC for point detection in an image for instance. This discussion will cover the combination of computer vision, pattern recognition and data science into an image processing pipeline that is designed to help deter fraudulent account access. In particular this pipeline acts as a "weak classifier" among an ensemble of classifiers that are used to determine whether or not an image is valid or whether it is likely to be fraudulent.

Presenter:

Greg Storm

Most recently Greg has been involved with a couple of different Kansas City startups where has helped them research new products, primarily using their data. Before that he had enjoyed a career working with large corporate transaction systems and databases. When he isn't working with data he is usually watching college football.

This meetup is hosted by Bellwethr at WeWork. Be sure to arrive early to be able to find parking and walk to the meetup space. The meeting is on the 3rd floor of the building.
