  • Our (ISC)² Kansas City Chapter won the (ISC)² Outstanding Chapter Award!  WOOT!
    • The announcement was made today, Tuesday, September 26 during the 2017 (ISC)² Security Congress and posted to their twitter feed:
    • Thank you to the (ISC)² KC Chapter leadership and membership who made this happen!  Thank you for your support, passion for information security and participation in our chapter!
  • (ISC)² Kansas City Chapter elections will be held in December.  These are the open positions:

    • Membership Chair (Currently Derin Beechner)
    • Five (5) Board positions (Currently Yoram Dvoretz & Eric Walters)

John Bambenek is Manager of Threat Systems at Fidelis Cybersecurity, Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a handler with the SANS Internet Storm Center. He has over 18 years experience in information security and leads several international investigative efforts tracking cybercriminals, some of which have lead to high profile arrests and legal action. He specializes in disruptive activities designed to greatly diminish the effectiveness of online criminal operations. He produces some of the largest bodies of open-source intelligence used by thousands of entities across the world.

Come prepared with your experiences, questions, and your security concerns that you wish to bring before a host of like-minded security professionals.

  2. Go south on Metcalf College BLVD.
  3. Turn east (left) onto College Lamar Ave.
  4. Turn south (right) onto Lamar Ave.Black & Veatch will be a block down on the left (east).
  5. Find the front entrance to the south, right across from the Sprint Campus (off of 115th St.).
  6. Locate the front entrance-it looks like an atrium-it is glass with a grass roof.
