  • Big data with Spring XD - by Spring Batch Lead Michael Minella

Big data is all the buzz these days.  However, the currently accepted toolset for working with Hadoop is painful to use and built on immature technologies.  Spring XD is a new Spring project that brings common Spring patterns to the big data world by using enterprise proven technologies.  In this talk, Michael Minella will provide an introduction to Spring XD, demonstrate common use cases, and discuss how to extend it for your own uses.
NOTE: The talk will only be available for attendees that show up in person. The only virtual attendee will be our speaker, Michael Minella.

Michael Minella is a software engineer, teacher and author with over a decade of enterprise development experience. Michael was a member of the expert group for JSR-352 (java batch processing). He currently works for Pivotal as the project lead for the Spring Batch project as well as an instructor at DePaul University. Michael is the author of Pro Spring Batch from Apress and the popular Refcard JUnit and EasyMock.
Outside of the daily grind, Michael enjoys spending time with his family as well as woodworking, photography, and InfoSec for hobbies.
