(speaker: Carolyn Schroeder)
A modern look at web programming using MVC...
Mini-Bio:
Carolyn got her start in IT programming part time for a non-profit organization in New York City. She worked on a desktop application written in VB6. Originally a native of the Kansas City area, Carolyn moved back in 2004. She earned an MCAD in C# which enabled her to obtain her first .NET position. It involved using C# to access the Microsoft Word and Excel object models to create reports. She went on to work at LabOne, now Quest Diagnostics where she worked on an international web application for the company. It used web forms on the front end and WCF services to connect to SQL Server on the back end. Carolyn went on to NIC where she used MVC to housesome individual web applications in a single code base. Carolyn continued her work with MVC as a contractor at UMB.
Carolyn is now the owner and principal of Schroeder Consulting. She holds an MCPD in .NET Frameworks 2.0, 3.5, and 4.0. She has two open source application which use MVC and the Entity Framwork published in public repositories on GitHub. She also does consulting throughout the Kansas City area, which is happily how she made John's acquaintance.
