DeVerne Coleman will give an update to the work he as has done attempting to automate the prediction of NFL games. This talk will cover attempts to incorporate data science/machine learning techniques into NFL game prediction and team ranking. These techniques include Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, Random Forest and others.
DeVerne Coleman is a Senior Architect at SS&C in the AWD group focusing on SQL performance and tuning. In his spare time, he has spent the last few years learning about predictive analytics and is working on applying this to his personal project, predicting football games.
