    • More Info:  On November 2, 2019, Women in Security KC (WiSKC) & The Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri will be hosting a Cyber Security 1/2 day, morning camp open to all Girl Scouts in the KC metro.  Black & Veatch is hosting the event.  The camp will educate Girl Scouts regarding securing their digital lives and help them earn the Girl Scout’s Cybersecurity Badge.  This camp's theme:  Building Future Cyber Defenders.  The event and all of the details are being planned by Women in Security KC (WiSKC).  This is an opportunity for (ISC)² KC members to offer our assistance and volunteer to make a difference in the lives of young ladies who are learning how to navigate their cyber lives.  For more information contact Amber Stone ([email protected]).

Chapter Meeting DETAILS:

Topic Details: The Criminal and Nation State Threat in the Cyber Landscape. The threat posed by both criminal and nation state actors has shifted considerably in the past decade from the physical to the virtual. As such, the FBI has adapted traditional law enforcement techniques to combat criminal activity and espionage online. This talk will discuss the FBI's perspective on these threats, how investigations have shifted to meet new technological challenges, and the need for private/public partnerships to achieve positive outcomes.

Facilitator:  Special Agent George Schultzel entered on duty in July of 2010 and was assigned to the New York Field Office. Over the course of his career, SA Schultzel has investigated complex criminal computer intrusions, nation state adversarial action, and cyber terrorism. SA Schultzel is currently serving as the Supervisory Special Agent of the Cyber Crime Task Force in the Kansas City Field Office.
