Have you ever wondered how large data has to be to be considered Big Data?

Are you interested in learning the problems that can and can't be solved using big data techniques?

Have you heard buzzwords like Hadoop or Sparking Pandas, and wondered how things that sound like names of cute animals could have become so essential to industries like healthcare, finance, consumer electronics, and even government?

In this class, we'll give an introduction to the world of big data.  We'll talk about the core concepts, outline the major technologies involved, and talk through solving some challenges in the big data space.  This class will be interactive, but not hands-on, so there is no need to bring your laptop. No programming experience is required.

Refreshments will be sponsored by Cerner

This class is for people with little to no technical experience. Bring a notepad, tablet or laptop to take notes and come prepared with questions. No laptop needed for this class.

Many thanks to our sponsor Cerner for the wonderful space.  Cerner is also providing refreshments for the class.

We expect all participants of our events to follow our code of conduct.
