Real-time applications provide so much functionality across so many different types of applications. There's Google Drive real-time editing, Twitter showing new tweets, any new chat system built recently, and so many more.

Firebase is an API service to store and sync data in real-time. What this means is that you don't have to worry about the backend server, database, or real-time component. All of that is handled for you by Firebase.

In this meetup we'll be playing with some demos, exploring the dashboard, and build a sample application with Firebase so we get a stronger understanding of what it does.

Feel free to look at Firebase before the meetup. Attendees are more than welcome to present any applications they've built with Firebase for imaginary bonus points! :)

• Networking at 6:00
• Event starts at 6:30
    - Lightning talks: short discussions/presentations on anything from the audience
    - Creating real-time apps with Firebase

There will be food and swag, so don't miss it!

What are my parking options at the event?
Parking is limited and first come first serve at the Google Fiber Space - 1814 Westport Road. Street parking is available on nearby side streets (Bell St, Genessee St, Wyoming St) as well on Westport Road. We ask you do not park in the church lot to the East, adjacent lot to the Google Fiber parking space. Thanks!
