  • Interested in open source programming languages for data mining? Curious about how R and Python can be used for data mining and predictive modeling? We have got the night for you! Join us for brief introductions to two popular open source languages.


    Trent Hauck will be introducing the pandas library for PythonTrent is a graduate of the University of Kanas with a BS in Accounting and an MS in Finance.  He has since moved industries and works in Marketing Analytics.  He contributes occasionally to OSS - most notably pandas and statsmodels.

    Madelaine Gogol will be presenting on R, the open source statistical software. Madelaine is originally from Manhattan, Kansas. She studied Computer Science at KU and has been working in bioinformatics ever since. For the past 6 years, she has worked at the Stowers Institute, where she analyzes biological data using mainly R and perl. She has been coordinating the KC R Users Group for about 2 years.
