Topological data analysis (TDA) is a branch of mathematics that has emerged as a tool for data scientists to use in the past few years that aims to find the "shape of data". This talk will introduce a tool from TDA called persistent homology. We will go through how homology is defined, how to bring homology into the world of data, and review some applications of homology to time series analysis.

Eric Bunch is a Data Scientist at C2FO. He earned a Ph.D. Mathematics from KState and, well, loves TDA!
