Bob Wakefield is going to present on Spark Streaming.

Practically every tutorial and online class you take for Spark will have you streaming Twitter data. It's readily accessible web scale data that is great to get started with. But most of the examples will have you doing some sort of text analytics. Most likely the ubiquitous "word count". But what if you want to crunch numbers instead? What if instead of dealing with sloppy tweets, you wanted to play with nice clean machine data? What if, instead of static toy datasets, you wanted to code against actual real-world data? Not a problem. We can make that happen.

We'll go over Spark Streaming and Structured Streaming. Then we'll show you how to get started streaming real world IoT data with the SDK from Satori. Finally, we'll show you how to spin up a Spark cluster in the cloud so you can truly get a feel of what it is like to process hundreds of messages per second.
