DeVerne Coleman will go over some of the work he as has done attempting to automate the prediction of NFL games.  This talk will cover attempts to incorporate data science/machine learning techniques to NFL game prediction and team ranking.  These techniques include Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, Random Forest and others.

DeVerne Coleman is as Lead Database Administrator DST Systems in the Enterprise Architecture group focusing on SQL performance and tuning.  In his spare time, he has spent the last few years learning about predictive analytics and is working on applying this to his personal project, predicting football games.

There should be plenty of street parking on nearby surface streets and should be free by 6pm. On the 2nd floor, use the East bank of elevators to come up to the 15th floor. Click here for event
