Please join us April 20th, from 2:30PM – 4:00PM at the
Microsoft office in Corporate Woods.
Topic: Demystifying Azure SQL – Hyperscaling the DBA!
Satya
Nadella, CEO of Microsoft has said that SQL Server is the edge of the
cloud. The reality is that most Senior IT Leaders in Kansas City are
developing their cloud strategy. Are you as a DBA ready? Can
you properly give your leadership advice on that strategy? We will begin
with an overview of Azure Cloud Data Strategy. Discuss the reality of
hybrid cloud. We will discuss the architecture and DBA basics including:
- How
to create a database, backup, restore it
- Security
- How
to move on premise to SQL DB (bacpac/dacpac)
- Performance,
Scaling, Monitoring
- Brief
overview of Hybrid Technologies (Stretch, Backup to Azure, Always On
Replicas in the Azure)
These
skills will allow you to be the “hyperscale” DBA.
