Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 7:00:00 PM BalancePoint 9201 Ward Parkway, Kansas City, MO

Alec Larsen will be joining us from Omaha and presenting "The Ruby Object Model: A bottom up explanation of method dispatch in MRI."

Part of what makes Ruby such a joy to use is its semantic syntax. Our intuitions are often imprecise and contradictory, and mapping them onto a deterministic object model is no small feat. This talk will explore a series of surprising decisions made in the design of the Ruby object model and the rationale behind them.

Doors will open at 6:30 and presentations will begin around 7:00.

BalancePoint will be providing pizza and pop.

Feel free to bring any old tech books you may want to leave at our book swap table.
