The goal of the KC Crowdfunding Group is to create a community to support each other and to be a resource for those interested in having a project crowdfunded using a website like Kickstarter or IndieGoGo.  We are focused on helping projects get to the launch stage.  We are not a place for live projects to be pitched.
Our monthly meetings will include a guest speaker who has had a project funded or has expertise in a related field like small business startups, social media marketing, website or video creation, etc.
We will also give time to 2 projects that are in development to be submitted to one of the crowdfunding sites.  This will give the creators a chance to test their pitch and get feedback from the group.

Our monthly agenda would look something like this:

6:30 - Arrive, network

7:00 - Meeting begins with guest speaker / Q & A

7:30 - First crowdfunding presentation & feedback from the group

8:00 - Second crowdfunding presentation & feedback from the group

8:30 - Meeting adjourned

These are some of the common questions that will be discussed:

What is the best platform for my project to appear on?
What are the advantages / disadvantages of each platform?
What is needed to create my campaign?  Photos, Drawings, Videos, Copy / descriptions?
How can I best tell my story to potential backers?
Is my project a good fit for crowdfunding?
How do I figure out what my goal should be?
What should my perks be and at what price should I set them for?
What are the best strategies for setting up my rewards?
What should I be prepared to do once my campaign begins?
How can I use social media and press to help spread the word?
What should I be prepared to do after my campaign ends?
How to be prepared to distribute our rewards to my backers?
What pitfalls should I be aware of?
