Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 6:00:00 PM The NEW HammerSpace Community Workshop 5200 E. 45th St., Kansas City, MO

Every Thursday, the members of Hammerspace gather to socialize, network, and meet new members of the space. We welcome the community at large to come down during this time to explore the workshop, check out all of the tools, fabrication equipment and work space made available to HammerSpace members, and ask questions of our community of Hammerspace users.

There is plenty of off-street parking, a kids playroom available for tiny makers, and the evening is always the origin point of new and amazing creative ideas.

Tours are led every 30 minutes for those curious about the tools and capabilities of the facility and staff. This is a free event, open to the public.

When you walk in the door, let them know you are with KC Roundtable and they should bring you to the table!

When it comes to starting your own business, people in marriages or partnerships have more than themselves to consider. Quitting your full time job to build your dream means something different when you have a family than if you are single. Join Certified Sex Coach Kristen Thomas for a discussion on topics like how to: include your partner in the planning of your business, prepare for tough conversations, and play into each other's strengths. Come share your personal experiences, understand the do's and major don'ts, and help entrepreneurs feel better prepared to pitch to their loved one.

Kristen is a Certified Sex Coach who focuses on relationships, dating, and sex. She graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor's in Psychology. She spent many years as a weight loss coach at Jenny
Craig, not only helping women (and some men) achieve their goals, but also training and developing staff as a Centre Director. This is where she found her love of coaching.

Kristen works with her clients to identify goals, build confidence, develop communication skills, and work together to find resources and techniques that work for them. People call her when they are experiencing a lack of connection in the bedroom with their partner, or they are needing support with single-life. Helping people nurture their love lives is her passion.

Civic Heroes of all types welcome! This event is for coders and non-coders alike -- as long as you're interested in making government more transparent and building interesting things for our city, you're more than welcome!

Bring a laptop: If you intend on getting some hands-on hacking done (it's ok if you can't but it definitely helps to have one).

RSVP here: https://hi.flatironschool.com/GTW-2020-02-03-TheScienceBehindNetflixRecommendations_rsvp.html?utm_source=gotowebinar&utm_medium=meetup&utm_campaign=rg--cam-new_york_city-mkt-nyc-us-&utm_content=----rid-recuEah0TfRWIjGgd

Dive into the data science and machine learning behind Netflix's recommendation algorithms.

Over 80% of the TV shows and movies we watch on Netflix are being discovered through its recommendation system. Join Flatiron School to explore the algorithm, data science, and machine learning behind how Netflix curates these recommendations, and learn how you can gain the skills to write your very own algorithms. Our Data Science coach, Yish Lim, will walk us through how recommendation algorithms work, and how Netflix collects and analyzes data to deliver your next favorite show.

Join us online for a deep dive into data science and Netflix, hear what it's like to learn with Flatiron School, and meet one of our Data Science coaches!
