User Experience in Health Care

Health Care is a complicated thing that requires big minds and large hearts. When designing and developing in this industry it can be difficult to grasp full understanding and impact of day-today decisions being made. In this presentation we'll talk about the process of gaining user understanding and building usable, beautiful products that saves lives. We'll also view some examples of how bad design and implementation can hurt the ones you love and why more talented designers and engineers are needed in this part of the industry.

Kendell Warner

Kendell is a UX Team Lead at Cerner Corporation. He spends most of his time trying to make healthcare a more pleasant experience for all users (Physician and Patient) by mentoring junior designers, managing an array of projects, and advancing processes on the team. When he's not problem solving for healthcare, he's working with local organizations to spread knowledge of the design industry as a Regional Director of the UXPA and a participant in Youth Ambassadors KC. Add in a crazy toddler and wacky Corgi and he's ready to hit the Xbox in the wee hours of the night for down time.
