DESCRIPTION

Are you interested in learning more about virtual reality? Would you like to know how you could make a virtual reality experience that will create new learning opportunities for your students?
Join the Kansas City Public Library’s Digital Media Lab, KCVR, and Mozilla for an educator focused VR workshop. In this ‘Intro to VR Workshop’, you will learn the basic building blocks of virtual reality and have an opportunity to create your own virtual environment. No coding experience necessary!
The workshop will take place over the course of three evenings, kicking off with a special edition of Geeks & Treats on April 26th. We encourage you to attend all sessions so that you can benefit from local VR experts, who will be on-site to support participants.

5:30 pm - 6:00 pm: eats, drinks, networking

6:00 pm - 7:00 pm: presentation and VR workshop

Workshop dates:
Part 1: April 26, 2017 from 5:30 - 7:00 pm at the Westport Public Library (a special edition of Geeks & Treats hosted by the KC Public Library)
Part 2: May 22, 2017 from 6:30 - 8:00 pm at at Centriq Training (a KCVR meetup)
Part 3: June 26, 2017 from 5:30 - 7:00 pm at the Westport Public Library (another special edition of Geeks & Treats hosted by the KC Public Library!)

Note: This is a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) event. Each participant will need a laptop (Mac or PC). If you have a smartphone, you may bring that as well, but not required. Again, no coding experience is necessary.

This workshop is being made possible through a collaboration between the Kansas City Public Library’s Digital Media Lab, KCVR, and Mozilla.
