  • Logging & Metrics With Docker - A Comprehensive Monitoring Solution
Stefan Zier is the Chief Architect at Sumo Logic. He enjoys building and running large distributed systems. He is also one of the key influencers for Sumo Logic’s DevOps culture. Prior to Sumo Logic, Stefan was a key contributor to several products at ArcSight (now HP).
In this talk Stefan will quickly summarize how people have dealt with logging in Docker historically and then describe a comprehensive approach to logging and monitoring in Docker, based on research and customer interviews.
While Docker adds a welcome layer of abstraction to the deployment of applications, it also challenges assumptions on how those applications should be managed. Stefan will discuss a comprehensive approach for collecting logs and metrics into a centralized platform and dissect the latest additions to Docker itself (log drivers, stats).

Please enter Cerner's campus through Marion Park Dr. You’ll follow Marion Park Drive bypassing Hickman Mills Drive until reaching the Security Gate. Remain in the left hand lane to stop at the Security office and notify them you are attending the DevOps Meetup. From there, you will be directed to park in the lot closest to The Lounge where the meetup will be held and myself or another organizer will be at the door to escort you to the meeting location. When leaving Cerner following the meetup, if the gate is down there is a button to push which will notify security to lift it and you should be able to get out with no problem
