  • We have a unique opportunity to listen to the talk that Michelle Brush, one of our own chapter leaders did at Strangeloop. Way to go Michelle!!!
The talk lasts about 45 minutes. The rest of the time we will use to network with other nerdettes.
Here is the abstract of her talk:
Fractals have uses beyond generating virtual coastlines and making colorful dorm room posters. In particular, space-filling curves such as Hilbert or Morton (Z-Order) are immensely valuable in building data structures to store and search multidimensional data. This talk will cover the practical uses of space-filling curves, how they are implemented, and how they can be used to improve traditional data structures.
Thanks to Cerner for hosting by providing the space as well as Pizza and beverages! As always, we expect all participants to follow our code of conduct.
